Loam Bistro’s identity takes shape from the slow, deliberate process of cheesemaking. The Loam snail became the hero symbol, a reminder that good food begins in the earth and takes time. A warm palette of burnt red, browns, and beige grounds the brand in an earthy, artisanal mood.

Loam, founded in Pune by Manya and Masoom, is a bistro dedicated to the craft of cheese. With Chef Meha Kumar as concept advisor, the menu celebrates produce, house-made preserves, pickles and citrus ferments that pair with their cheeses. The founders share a belief that some things can’t be rushed, and wanted the brand to welcome people into that philosophy of thoughtful, ingredient-forward food.

Loam came to us with a strong vision but no visual language. The task was to build a brand from scratch that could express the terroir of cheesemaking — soil, cattle, climate, farmers  and translate their “slow, patient, quality-first” ethos into a contemporary café identity.

We wrote the story around the Loam snail: food that begins in earth and moves slowly toward the plate. That narrative led the logo, illustration style, and colour palette. Minimal layouts, warm neutrals and a clean wordmark tied the founders’ culinary vision to the space and collaterals, resulting in an identity that feels handcrafted, calm and very Loam.
